Community Guidelines

CozyBooks is meant to be a warm, gentle corner of the internet for readers. A few simple rules keep it that way.

The spirit

Be kind. Share what you loved (or didn’t) about a book honestly, but talk about the book, not the person reading it. Assume good faith.

Not allowed

• Hate & slurs — content attacking people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar.
• Harassment — targeting, bullying, or threatening other readers.
• Sexually explicit content or anything that sexualizes minors (zero tolerance).
• Spam & manipulation — fake reviews, rating manipulation, advertising, or bulk junk.
• Illegal content or content that infringes others’ rights.
• Impersonation — pretending to be someone else, or using a misleading handle/name.

Reviews & spoilers

Keep reviews about your reading experience. If you discuss key plot twists, mark them with the spoiler toggle so others can choose to read on. Hateful language is automatically blocked in reviews, names and handles.

Reporting

Tap the ⚑ icon on a review or a public shelf to report it. Reporting requires being signed in. When several distinct accounts report the same content, it is automatically hidden from public view until a moderator reviews it — so the community can keep things tidy even when we’re offline.

What happens when a rule is broken

We use the least severe action that resolves the issue, escalating as needed:

• A heads-up for minor or first-time issues.
• Hiding the content from public view.
• Suspending or banning the account for clear abuse or repeat violations.
• Removing the account and its data for severe or illegal content.
